Andrea Houlihan, 53, of Sayreville, was a passenger on her husband's Harley Davidson when a vehicle suddenly changed lanes on Route 9 in Old Bridge, bringing traffic to an abrupt halt on Sunday, Aug. 13, as previously reported by Daily Voice.

Andrea, a Montville native, was pronounced dead at Hackensack Meridian Hospital, and her husband remains critical.

Phyllis Houlihan Schiavone, Andrea's sister-in-law, detailed the crash on Facebook in sharing a GoFundMe for the family the day after the crash.

"Life can change in an instant," she writes. "Yesterday morning my brother and his wife were out on their motorcycle. A car did the 'Jersey Slide' across 3 lanes of traffic and cut them off.

"They were hit and run over. My sister in law didn’t make it to the hospital and my brother is severely injured in ICU."

"Their children are faced with putting their mother to rest while being the medical advocates for my brother in what will surely be an immensely difficult recovery. Both physically and emotionally."

The GoFundMe campaign has been started to help pay funeral costs and expenses for the Houlihan children.

Condolences poured in on Andrea's Facebook timeline.
